Little tips for a bigger butt.

It’s speedo season, which means we gotta talk about ass. Who’s got one, who wants one, and who knows how to get one?

The answer to all three of those is one man: Cory Gooch.

The Gooch is one of my favourite people in the world. He’s so hunky and so gosh-darn nice and friendly. I’ve never heard him say a bad word about anyone. And it’s refreshing for a man to not believe that being sexy gives them the right to treat other persons like trash. It’s fresh like iced tea.

In addition to that, Cory has an ass of steel. I slapped him once and almost busted the bones in my hand. This comes from his 12 years of experience in the fitness industry as a strength and conditioning coach, and from all the heavy duty work that comes with being a Barry’s instructor. He knows his stuff.

If there’s anyone worth asking about butt stuff, it’s CG.

First of all, what do you look for in a good glute?

Who it belongs to...
But definitely the proportion. Glutes need to match the legs, torso and the rest of the body.

You know how people do a couple push-ups before they go out in a tank top? Is there a butt–equivalent for that?
Is it possible to do a butt party pump?

Honestly, you need to do the work well before heading to the beach.

But there a couple cool exercises that create blood flow to the glutes, which may give you a little pump for a short period of time. Things like using booty bands or resistance bands can be a good way to get a pump.

-       Crab crawls: a sideways walk with a booty band around your legs.

-       Hip thrusts: place in the band just below your knees as you lay on your back, then thrust your pelvis towards the ceiling.

-       Squats, obviously.

Are there any really important long-term exercises for a good glute?

Definitely big power moves like dead lifts, hip thrusts and squats are great long-term exercises to build your glutes. Just keep in mind that it’s super important to activate the right muscle groups and doing the correct exercises in the correct way.

How often do you train glutes?

I trained the whole lower body once a week and I’ll definitely do a Barry’s class of glutes and abs every Thursday. #plug

Your personal favourite butt exercise?

Hip thrust – 100%

Anything else you want to mention?

Training glutes for hypertrophy (getting bigger) isn’t everyone’s goal.

So, I encourage people to work out their goal for training, like getting bigger, better cardio, be healthier, or feeling better. Then, give yourself a period of time to achieve that goal. And, reach out to professionals for advice remembering one day isn’t really the way to succeed – consistency is key.

And if all else fails, get a tan!!!

Now, to the good stuff; what’s your personal preference: speedos or boardies?

Boardies if I’m just hanging out by the pool or the beach. Speedos if I’m sun baking or hanging out on my own.

Do you prefer a dude in speedos or boardies? Asking for a mate.

I don’t really mind but a cool pair of boardies and a handsome man. Perfect.

What would you say to a man who’s too shy for speedos?

Hang around people that are gonna make you feel good, no matter what you’re wearing.

I told you. He’s legit the nicest guy in the world.
